How much notice do removal companies need?
We operate on a first come, first served basis, so the sooner you reserve your removal date the better chance you'll have of finding a team available at that time. Call us on 0800 093 3390 to check availability.
How long does it take to load a removal van?
Load times vary and depend on factors such as the distance to the property from the van, how well packed your belongings are and how many people are loading the van. On average a two-man team can load a luton boxed van in around three hours. Please note that unloading is considerably quicker than loading.
How does a house clearance work?
House clearances are conducted by specialists who determine what will be donated, sold or disposed of responsibly. The work typically includes clearing out unwanted furniture, clutter and household goods from properties being vacated. If you are planning a house clearance, our house clearance guide covers how to prepare and what to expect.
How much can a 3.5 tonne van carry?
The vans we use are 3.5 tonne vans, which include a luton boxed van with tail lift and a high-top extra-long wheelbase van. The maximum payload is just over a tonne and we take great care not to overload. Road safety is paramount when we transport our customers' belongings.
What will movers not pack?
Green4Logistics does not move livestock, hazardous goods, paint or illegal goods. Other than that, most items can be moved. For special items such as pianos or antique furniture, please make us aware before your move date so we can make suitable arrangements.
Do movers disassemble beds?
Green4Logistics can dismantle beds, wardrobes, cots and dining tables. Please let us know in advance what you need dismantled and reassembled. Our dismantling service is included in the hourly rate for local removals.
What is the cheapest way to move?
The best way to keep your removal costs to a minimum is to pack all your items yourself, disassemble any furniture that needs it before moving day and disconnect electrical goods such as white goods and televisions. We can offer expert advice through our free no-obligation video survey. Contact our home removals team today.
What size van do I need for a 3 bedroom house?
It depends on how much furniture and how many belongings you need to move. On average our luton boxed van and high-top extra-long wheelbase van can accommodate a three-bedroom house move. If you are moving locally we can also do a return trip if this is required.
What do movers load first?
Every home removal is different, but as a general guide it helps to ensure there is a clear walkway for bedroom furniture. We usually load flat-pack disassembled items first, then larger items such as divan beds, mattresses, wardrobes and sofas, with white goods loaded last.
Do I need to empty drawers for movers?
If your chest of drawers allows the drawers to be fully removed, it is fine to leave items inside them. When loading, we remove the drawers from the unit, load the unit onto the van and then return the drawers for transport. If drawers are completely full, it helps to transfer some items to boxes so we can remove them more easily.
What do packing services include?
If you require a packing service the first step is to arrange a video survey. From the survey we can estimate how many boxes are required and advise on the packing materials you will need. Green4Logistics can provide boxes, packing paper, tape, bubble wrap and a packing team who will safely pack and wrap all your items.
