From the very outset and my conversations with Darren, I found him to be really friendly and helpful. He was easily contactable which again was really helpful as the last thing that you want to do is have to chase your movers. On the day of the big move Darren said Kick arrived on time and set to work and they just didn’t stop; they worked like absolute trojans. Despite the huge volume of boxes/items to be moved, they were both so pleasant and accommodating, enjoying a bit of friendly banter along the way, which really helped. They did a sterling job with a smile on their faces and they really did help to make the day as pleasurable as it could be.I would absolutely recommend their services without any doubt. I booked their services based on their reviews and can now see why they are so deserving of such great reviews. Look no further, you won’t be disappointed.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Andy Lee24/10/2024Just moved from Bramhall to Cheadle-Hulme and used these guys again, three years after moving from Kent to the north. I really can't recommend them highly enough, still (see previous review!). Not the cheapest quote but far from the most expensive (and who wants to trust your move with the cheapest anyway?). They are the most jolliest, easy-going, helpful people. On time, no breakages and super-helpful in every way. They made the potentially stressful move day a breeze with their humour and professionalism. Trust your next move with these guys. Just make sure you have plenty of tea bags and cookies. They like tea and cookies.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Samantha Bishop30/09/2024Excellent, caring, supportive, considerate, professional.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Naomi Savage27/09/2024Really helpful company, fast replies, good value for money, friendly removers who were careful with all my furniture, and they only charged a little more for an extra van that was needed on the moving day. I would definitely recommend this company.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Clair Holland15/09/2024I would not hesitate to use Darren and his colleague from Green4Logistics again. They safely collected and delivered a set of six quite precious dining chairs for us from Oxford. They liaised with the seller and myself, keeping me informed and reassured. Thanks chaps.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.John Gale19/08/2024We have moved from Meir Heath to Northern Lincolnshire in the last few days. We found Green 4 Logistics on line and were delighted with the service they offered and their attention to detail. Very decent initial quote which was exactly the same at the end. Great guys who unplumbed our washing machine to move but when we got to the new property found the drain clogged. No problem for these guys, sorted within minutes and even cleaned it out. Having had to move 5 times in 6 years these people are “The Business”. Well pleased.
1. House Clearance Preparation
A good idea is to estimate how long it will take to undertake your house clearance. We would advise that you would need around half a day to complete each room.
Remember that House Clearances can be very time-consuming so try to plan it in advance.
2. The First Thing to do When Preparing for a House Clearance is to Get Rid of Any Clutter in The Home.
The best method when getting rid of clutter is to pile items in the following Keep, Donate, Trash, Sell.
2.1 Keep
Depending on how much items you are going to keep you will need to find a place to store these items.
If you have a lot of items then personal storage units could be an option. If money is tight then ask family members and friends if they have any spare space available.
2.2 Donate
If you have any items you would like to donate then its a good idea to see what charity shops are available in your local area. Give them a call and see if they will take the items you wish to donate. Please be aware that if you do have any sofas, armchairs etc that you would like to donate, most charity shops require the “fire safety label” to still be fitted on them.
You will also need to find the best way to deliver your items to the charity shop. If you are using a house clearance company they will do this for you if you let them know in advance.
2.3 Trash
Throw out anything that you don’t need, including old clothes, shoes and bedding etc. You may recycle items that you have decided to dispose of at your local recycle facility (your house clearance firm can also remove your trash for you). Why not contact your local council and see if they offer a local collection service where you leave your unwanted items outside of your home and they collect them?.
Skip hire is the best choice if you have a lot of things to get rid of. However, you must load all of your goods into the skip yourself. Skips may be dropped off on your driveway or along your road; please note that if the skip is delivered on your road, you’ll need to consult with your council for a skip permit. You can hire a skip for a day, a few days or even a week depending on what needs going into it. If you fill your skip in that time the skip hire company will usually come and replace the skip with an empty one if this is required.
2.4 Sell
If you have any items that you believe are worth money but don’t want, why not attempt to get rid of them?
TV’s, books, furniture, and white goods such as washing machines are some examples of things that might be offered.
These can be placed on online auction sites such as Ebay, Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree. You could be shocked at how much money you make from your sold items, but keep in mind that you’ll need to sell them ahead of time or else they’ll take up room.
If you’re going to sell items make sure they are clean and presentable – this will help them sell faster.
3. House Clearance Cleaning
Once your belongings are gone and the room is empty, you’ll need to clean it.
We would recommend professional cleaners to do this.
House Clearance companies will usually include cleaning as part of their service, but if they haven’t, professional cleaners can make a huge difference to the overall appearance of a home and could increase its value.
We hope this House Clearance guide has helped identify the best solution to your next project.
