Green4Logistics provided an office removal in Hanley, Stoke on Trent this week for one of our clients. They required us to move office equipment to their new business location in Festival Park, Stoke on Trent. We decided to discuss things that need to be considered when relocating to a new office.
MOVING PLAN
We liaised with our client and discussed a schedule for their office removal. We needed to understand deadlines on the installation of new systems and technology and when they needed to be settled.
The new location of the office had to be considered including access issues on the day of the move. Office space also needed to be evaluated with changes to workstations, fixtures and, fittings.
A moving plan is imperative for any business to avoid any disruption.
It was decided the best solution would be to complete the office removal over two separate days. Doing it this way the business would still be in operation at the old office premises whilst we moved half of the office furniture to the new location. Once the first stage of the office equipment was set up and installed we could then move the remaining items from the old location.

OFFICE FURNITURE
We needed to discover what would be happening to the existing furniture.
We advised our client to make a checklist as to what IT items needed to be moved to the new location. Were any items been sold on or been disposed of? Was any new office furniture been delivered to the new location on the day of the move, etc?
The client had 12 office desks that needed to be dismantled and assembled at the new location so we were assigned to do this. Along with moving office chairs, pedestals, a meeting room table (dismantled and assembled), filing cabinets and cupboards.

OFFICE MATERIALS
A checklist was also required to find out office documents, files, books, stationery, etc needed to be packed and calculate how many boxes would be required.
Our client decided that the best approach would be for us to supply boxes, archive boxes, etc and their team would pack the items themselves. Green4Logistics can provide an office packing service but in this situation, our client chose to do this.
All the office materials were packed and ready to go on the day of the office move and our staff loaded items on the van and moved to the new location.
